India to Stage 2025 Asia Cup as ACC Reveals Host Nations For Next Four Editions & Media Rights Auction Date

India will be hosting the 2025 Asian Cup in T20I format, the Invitation To Tender (ITT) released by the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) has revealed. The governing body has set a base price of USD 170 million for the media rights of the Asia Cup from 2024 to 2031.

Bangladesh will be hosting the Asia Cup 2027 in the ODI format. The continental showpiece event will be held ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa in the same year. The format of the Asia Cup has been kept as per the approaching ICC event since the last few editions. Notably, a T20 World Cup is scheduled in 2026.

The last Asia Cup was held in the ODI format just ahead of the World Cup 2023. India won the trophy for the record-extending eighth time, and will now have the opportunity to defend the title at home. The BCCI will be hosting the Asia Cup for the first time after 1990 when India defeated Sri Lanka in the final.

Further, Pakistan will host the Asia Cup 2029 (T20I format), and Sri Lanka in 2031 (ODI format). As per cricbuzz, each edition will feature 13 matches with India and Pakistan clashing against each other at least twice. There will be a possibility of a third encounter if both the teams qualify for the final.

2027 - Bangladesh (ODI format).
2029 - Pakistan (T20 format).
2031 - Sri Lanka (ODI Format)

Three women's Asia Cup would also be held during the period. The auction for the media rights will be held on November 1.
