Colombo, Jan 28: Sri Lanka on Thursday (January 28) named a 15-man squad to tour India next month for a three-match Twenty20 International series.
The squad, led by Dinesh Chandimal, will miss the services of regular captain Lasith Malinga due to injury. Angelo Mathews, Nuwan Kulasekara, Rangana Herath and Nuwan Pradeep are also not included due to injuries.
"Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Nuwan Kulasekera, Rangana Herath and Nuwan Pradeep were not available for selection due to injuries," a media release from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said today.
A big surprise in the squad is the return of fast bowler Dilhara Fernando. The 36-year-old has not played for the country since 2012.
India and Sri Lanka face off in 3 T20Is starting from February 9 in Pune. India are currently in Australia and will end the tour on January 31 with the 3rd and final Twenty20 International against the hosts in Sydney.
