India U19 vs England U19: India's U19 side kicked off their tour of England with a commanding six-wicket win in the first Youth ODI on Friday, thanks to a combined effort from their bowlers and a top-order blitz led by IPL sensations Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre.
After choosing to bowl first, India's bowling attack delivered a clinical performance, dismissing the hosts for just 174 in 42.5 overs. Spin twins Kanishk Chouhan and Mohammed Enaan, alongside quicks RS Ambrish and Henil Patel, shared the spoils as England failed to recover from a promising start.

In response, India chased down the target in just 24 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Leading from the front was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who brought his IPL 2025 form straight into the youth international arena. Wearing the iconic No. 18 jersey, the Rajasthan Royals star-famous for his explosive 35-ball ton against Gujarat Titans earlier this year-launched into England's bowlers with fury. He smacked three sixes in one over from Jack Home and raced to 48 off just 18 balls before a mistimed slog off Ralphie Albert ended his innings.
Captain Ayush Mhatre, fresh from a breakthrough IPL season with Chennai Super Kings where he tallied 240 runs, kept the tempo high. He struck a flurry of boundaries but fell while attempting another aggressive shot, caught at extra cover off Alex French.
Despite a brief stumble in the middle overs, vice-captain Abhigyan Kundu played a composed knock, finishing unbeaten on 45 and guiding India to victory with ease.
Earlier in the day, England seemed poised for a big score as opener Isaac Mohammed blazed his way to 42 from 28 deliveries, peppering the boundary with three fours and four sixes. But India clawed back after Mohammed Enaan sent him packing, sparking a collapse.
From 76/1, England lost three quick wickets to slide to 86/4. Ambrish delivered a crucial double blow by removing Ben Mayes and skipper Thomas Rew, while Henil Patel chipped in by breaking key partnerships.
A resilient half-century from Rocky Flintoff-youngest son of English legend Andrew Flintoff-offered some resistance. He fought hard, hitting three sixes and three boundaries, but found little support from the tail. Chouhan's spell strangled the lower order, claiming three scalps, and Enaan returned to wrap things up with another wicket.
India now heads into the second ODI with strong momentum. The five-match ODI series will be followed by two Youth Test matches, beginning on July 12.
