India vs Afghanistan Match Prediction: India will take on Afghanistan in the 1st T20I match on Thursday (January 11).
The two teams will lock horns in a three-match T20I series which starts from Thursday and will continue till January 17. This is the first time the two teams will play a bilateral series in their history, and India will be hoping for the appropriate preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup in June.

India have recalled captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the T20 fold after their absence in the last few series. Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah won't play any part and youngsters such as Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been named in the squad.
For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan is back in the squad after missing out their previous encounter while Ibrahim Zadran is named as captain. Three Afghan stars (Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman) who were sanctioned from playing T20 franchise cricket have all been included in the squad against India.
Match Date, Time and Venue: The 1st T20I match between India and Afghanistan will be played at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday (January 11). The match will start at 7 pm IST/ 1:30 pm GMT.
Live Stream and Telecast: The 1st T20I Match between India and Afghanistan will be telecast live on the Sports18 network in multiple languages. The Indian viewers can stream the match live through the JioCinema app and website. Doordarshan will also broadcast the match on its terrestrial network.
India and Afghanistan have played 5 T20I matches, with India winning four matches out of them. One match ended without a result, which was in the Final of the Asian Games in China last year.
This will be a huge test for both teams and the onus will be on the Indian team to register a decent result in the series. Afghanistan have a strong squad comprised of some decent players, and with their experience of playing in India in the past, can put up a robust challenge. But we reckon given the quality the Indian team possesses, it will be an easy victory for Rohit Sharma and his troops.
