Abhishek Sharma turned the Arun Jaitley Stadium into a personal playground as India produced a dominant performance to beat Afghanistan by 127 runs in the third and final T20I on Thursday, completing a 3-0 series sweep.

After Afghanistan opted to bowl, Abhishek unleashed a breathtaking assault, smashing 108 off just 34 balls, including nine fours and 11 sixes. He reached his century in only 30 deliveries, becoming the fastest Indian to score a T20I hundred. Sanju Samson provided excellent support with a brisk 50 off 35 balls, as India raced to 221/7 in 20 overs.

Afghanistan's chase never gathered momentum. Ibrahim Zadran top-scored with 25 off 16, while Azmatullah Omarzai made 17, but India's bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi claimed three wickets apiece, while Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Thakur chipped in with one each. Axar Patel also claimed a couple of wickets. Afghanistan were eventually bowled out for 94, handing India a comprehensive 127-run victory and a clean sweep.

The victory was the 10th instance of India winning by a margin of 100 runs or more, as they equalled with Canada at the top of that list. For Afghanistan, the defeat was the heaviest by margin and their second defeat against India by a margin of 100+ runs. Both India and Afghanistan will now fly to Japan for the upcoming Asian Games.
