The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for Afghanistan's upcoming tour of India in June 2026, featuring a multi-format bilateral series that includes one Test match and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
The tour kicks off with a historic one-off Test at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur), running from June 6 to June 10, 2026. This will mark the venue's debut as a Test host, adding fresh excitement to India's red-ball calendar.

Following the Test, the action shifts to the 50-over format with a three-match ODI series. The first ODI is set for June 14 in Dharamshala at the scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, known for its picturesque backdrop and bowler-friendly conditions. The second ODI follows on June 17 in Lucknow at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, while the series concludes with the third and final ODI on June 20 at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
This series represents a significant step in strengthening cricketing ties between the two nations, especially as Afghanistan continues to establish itself in Test cricket since gaining full membership in 2018. India and Afghanistan have met sporadically in bilateral cricket, with memorable encounters in limited-overs formats and the ongoing growth of Afghan talent, led by players like Rashid Khan, making this tour highly anticipated.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are likely to return for the ODI series, while Auqib Nabi may get his first call-up for the Test match.
