India vs Aus: "Sir, meri to bowling aa nahi rahi hai," Axar Patel floors Ravindra Jadeja in hilarious chat

Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel was involved in a heartfelt and hilarious interview after India's Test win over Australia in Delhi. Here is what happened between the pair.

India secured a fantastic victory over Australia in the 2nd Test in Delhi as the hosts wrapped up the game by three days.

Despite Australia having a slight advantage till day 2, the visitors crumbled like house of cards and slipped to a major capitulation on the 3rd day. They lost 8 wickets for just 28 runs, and Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja was the main architect behind their downfall.

Jadeja picked up 7 wickets in the second innings, and ended up with career-best figures of 7/42. After a six-month injury lay-off, Jadeja has come back strongly to the Indian fold. The all-rounder picked up 7 wickets in Nagpur, and has topped that with a 10-wicket haul in the Delhi Test, earning him consecutive player of the match awards.

Jadeja and Axar Patel - both left-arm spinners have played the first two Australia Tests, but the latter has mostly contributed with the bat. Axar Patel has played a couple of amazing knocks down the order, especially his 74 in Delhi was pivotal as that completely changed the dynamic of the match. But Axar hasn't got enough opportunity with the ball, as Ashwin and Jadeja has got the bulk of bowling across the two matches.

And after the 2nd Test victory, both Axar and Jadeja came in for an interview and had a hilarious chat between them regarding Axar's lack of bowling. Axar asked Jadeja if Jadeja is bowling like that to keep Axar off the bowling crease.

"Sir, meri to bowling aa nahi rahi hai. Axar ko bowling nahi dena hai isliye aisa ball dal rahe ho kya? (Sir, I am not getting a chance to bowl. Are you bowling like that so Axar doesn't get a chance to bowl?)," Axar asked Jadeja in a video shared by BCCI.

The question left both of them in splits but Jadeja explained the important role of a spinner in the sub-continent track, where there is something to offer for the spinners.

"They [the Australians] prefer playing the sweep and reverse sweep. My effort was to bowl stump to stump. If they miss and the ball stays low, then the ball is bound to hit the stumps. That's what happened today when five balls hit the stumps," Jadeja said.

It was a combined effect of some good bowling and poor shot selection that led to Australia's demise in Delhi. The Australian batters attempted non-existent shots and as many as five players lost their wicket while attempting a sweep shot.
