Australia's debutant off-spinner Todd Murphy has made his mark on his very first game against India in the first Test.
The 22-year-old has picked up a seven for in the first inning and still can add to his tally as India scored 400 runs in their first inning, in reply to Australia's 177.
Todd Murphy has by far been the most disciplined bowler for the visitors on Friday (February 10). In a pitch that has something to offer for the spinners, Murphy executed his plans perfectly and extracted the best out of the pitch. The youngster's mentality was fantastic, and so was the tenacity to continue bowling with his basics spot on.
Murphy picked up his first wicket on Thursday when he picked up KL Rahul, which must have been a good feeling for him. But he continued that with even bigger scalps on the second day of the Test match.

KL Rahul - KL Rahul was Murphy's first victim. He hit one straight back to the bowler who completed a catch to get his first-ever international wicket.
Ravichandran Ashwin - Ravichandran Ashwin was trapped in front and a successful VAR overturned the onfield decision as Murphy picked up his second wicket.
Cheteshwar Pujara - Perhaps the only wicket that had a luck in it. The ball pitched long outside the leg stump. Pujara attempted a sweep but could only manage the edge and was taken at the short fine-leg.
Virat Kohli - Virat Kohli managed a feather tickle in another leg stump delivery, and Alex Carey completed a decent catch to see the Indian talisman go to the hut for just 12 runs.
KS Bharat - Debutant KS Bharat was beaten by the pace and could only manage to pad the ball in an attempt to play a defensive shot. Again, VAR came to Australia's aid as another on-field decision was overturned, thus Murphy getting his elusive 5th wicket on Debut.
Ravindra Jadeja - He picked up Ravindra Jadeja on the third day.
Mohammed Shami - The young spinner went for a few as Shami took him on. But he laughed the last as another tossed up delivery was skied high by Shami, and Alex Carey completed the catch.
47 overs - 12 maidens - 124 runs - 7 wickets
Murphy becomes 4th Australian spinner to have a fifer on debut, and the youngest Aussie spinner to do so.
