Nagpur, March 5: Skipper Virat Kohli made his 40th ODI hundred, a classy 116, as India reached a competitive 250 in the second ODI against Australia here on Tuesday (March 5). Then they bowled out Australia for 242 to celebrate an 8-run win and a 2-0 lead.
India is taking on Australia in the second ODI with an eye on doubling the lead after winning the first match at Hyderabad a couple of days ago. MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav propped up India after the top order folded for less than 100, stitching together a stand worth more than 100.
India will be hoping that they can go past the line with much less discomfort and here's MyKhel Live Update of the second India vs Australia ODI.
Vijay shankar held his nerve in the 50th over to take two wickets as India emerge an eight-run winner over Australia to take 2-0 lead in the series.
Vijay shankar was rather surprising choice for last over. But he removed the big fish Marcus stonis for 52. They are 240/9
11 runs off the last over for Aussies to win
Marcus stonis has made a 62-ball 50. Top knock under the situation
2 wickets for Bumrah in that over. Now Cummins is gone for a duck, caught by Dhoni behind the wicket. 223/8
Boomrah. Coulter Nile did not have much idea about that incoming delivery. He's out for 4 and Aus are 223/7
Wicket no 6: Alex Carey attempted to sweep Kuldeep and the ball rolled back to hit the stumps. 33 off 33 balls.
4,4, by Alex Carey and 6 by Marcus stoinis and Australia are getting close here. Kuldeep bore the brunt of that attack.
Australia are struggling for pace and momentum here against Indian bowlers. They need a few beefy shots.
Australia lose their 5th wicket. Handscomb is run out after brilliant direct hit by Jadeja. They are 171/5
A T20 situation -- 84 runs off 77 balls.
Dropped! Dhoni made that chance for himself anticipating the sweep, moving down leg side. But he couldn't hang on to the chance. A great effort anyway
Jadeja and Kuldeep have dried up runs here, and now the required run rate is climbing and close to 6
Maxwell was getting frustrated at getting stuck -- 4 off 18 balls. Then he went for a mighty pull off Kuldeep and missed the ball altogether to get bowled for 4. Aus are 132/4. Big moment!
Drinks time and Aus are 131/3, need 120 runs from 23 overs. Maxwell and Handscomb are at crease
India have their 3rd Australian wicket as Jadeja got Marsh, a thin edge down the leg and Dhoni made no mistake, needless to say.
shami has been brought back into attack but the Oz bat have negated him well
Australia have gone past 100 in 20 overs. So far they are pretty fine despite to wickets
Wicket No 2. Khawaja looped a catch to Kohli in the covers off Kedar Jadhav. 83/2 Aus are
Wicket no 1: Kuldeep gets rid of Finch, trapped him leg before for 37. Oz are 83/1
Finch hammered Kuldeep over midwicket for a 6. Typical of Finch.
Khawaja and Finch have added 69 runs in good time for the AuSSIES. Good beginnging
Finch and Khwaja have done good so far, tacking Indian bowlers with confidence. Them tackling Kuldeep could be crucial here
Have a little fun! See how Dhoni tries to dodge his fan. A footballer will be proud of his dribbling skills.

Finch and Khwaja are hanging in there. Couple of play-miss and couple of good-looking shots as well
Australia begin chase of 251. Finch and Khawaja are opening for India and Shami is with new ball for India. Bumrah should be coming in very soon from the other end.
That's it. India made 250 thanks to Kohli's patient 116. Can the bowlers defend?
Cummins who has been impressive today, gets Kuldeep Yadav, who moved too much across the line to get bowled.
Kohli departs for 116. He is furious with himself for finding the lone fielder at deep square leg -- Marcus Stoinis off Cummins. India are 248/8
Jadeja falls to Cummins for 21, a struggling stay comes to an end. India are 238/7
