Visakhapatnam, March 19: India will look to claim an unassailable lead when they take on Australia in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday (March 19).

Hardik Pandy-led India sealed a 5-wicket win over Australia in the series opener thanks to an unbeaten knock of 75 from KL Rahul at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Now, when the action shifts to Vizag, regular skipper Rohit Sharma will be back to takeover the reigns, but will there be any play or will weather impact the match?

As per the weather forecast for Sunday (March 19), there is high probability of rain in Visakhaptanam, where there has been overnight showers. The conditions are expected to be humid in day with temperature at 25° C for most part of the day. But, overall the forecast says scattered thunder storms.

As per weather.com, the chances of rain are 75 percent in the day and is expected to be below 25 percent in night, while AccuWeather forecasts 53 percent thunderstorms in the day and 49 percent thunderstorms in the night.

So, it's very likely the match will be affected by the summer showers in India. But there may be a chance of a truncated game. With forecast for rain in the noon, the start of play and toss may be delayed. Plus, with possible showers expected in the evening, we could see a start-stop kind of play.

What happens if rain interrupts play? (As per ICC rules and playing conditions)

• To constitute a match, a minimum of 20 overs have to be bowled to the team batting second subject to a result not being achieved earlier.

• If, due to suspension of play after the start of the match, the number of overs in the innings of either team has to be revised to a lesser number than originally allotted (minimum of 20 overs), then a revised target score (to win) should be set for the number of overs which the team batting second will have the opportunity of facing.

This revised target is to be calculated using DLS. The target set will always be a whole number and one run less will constitute a Tie (refer to the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern Regulations).

• If the innings of the side batting second is suspended (with at least 20 overs bowled) and it is not possible for the match to be resumed, the match will be decided by comparison with the DLS 'Par Score' determined at the instant of the suspension using DLS.

If the score is equal to the par score, the match is a Tie. Otherwise the result is a victory, or defeat, by the margin of runs by which the score exceeds, or falls short of, the Par Score.
