India vs Australia: Two key India players rested for Rajkot ODI, Three players set to return

India have decided to give a break to two of their squad players for the final ODI against Australia.

India already have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Australia, and the final match of the series is set to be played in Rajkot on Wednesday (September 27).

And ahead of the match, the team management has decided to rest both Shubman Gill and Shardul Thakur. The duo will not travel with the team to Rajkot and instead join with the team in Guwahati.

Gill scored a fantastic century against the Aussies in Indore, whereas Shardul Thakur played the first match in Mohali. There will be a lot of travel for the Indian team during the World Cup as it is being played across many cities, hence the team management has resorted to giving ample break for the players so that they can be fresh for the mega event.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah set to return in Rajkot

On the other hand, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to return to the Indian squad after being rested for the first two matches. KL Rahul led the Indian team in the first couple of matches but Rohit Sharma will be tossing the coin in Rajkot. Kohli is also set to play in Rajkot after his period away from action.

Also, Jasprit Bumrah will be joining the team in Rajkot for the final ODI match. The pace star was given a break by the team after the first match, but he looks likely to spearhead the Indian bowling attack in Rajkot.
