New Delhi, Feb 19: India wrapped up the second Test match against Australia in three days as India chased down a 115-run target with comfort after Ravindra Jadeja's 7/42 bundled out the visitors for just 113 runs in the second innings
India on Sunday won the second Test match against Australia by six wickets after Ravindra Jadeja claimed seven wickets on the third day's morning to bundle out the visitors for just 113 runs. With the win, India have taken the lead of 2-0 in the four-match Test series.
Resuming the day on 61/1, Australia lost nine wickets for just 51 runs in a hapless batting display as Jadeja ran riot.
It all started with Travis Head's dismissal early in the morning with the score reading 65. The in-form batter maintained an aggressive stance on Saturday evening and reached 43 runs off just 46 balls before R Ashwin had him caught behind by S Bharat.
Steve Smith then had a mini 20-run stand with Marnus Labuschagne before Ashwin picked his second wicket in Smith (9).
The damage was eternal with Smith's departure as 10 runs later everything fell apart. Jadeja dismissed Labuschagne (35), Peter Handscomb, and Pat Cummins (0) while Ashwin had concussion substitute Matt Renshaw lbw for 2 as the Aussies went from 95/3 to 95/7 in space of 11 balls.
Jadeja then cleaned up the tail with the wickets of Alex Carey (7), Nathan Lyon (8), and debutant Matthew Kuhnemann (0) to bundle out Australians for 113.
Chasing the paltry total, India had a few hiccups with Rohit Sharma (31) and Virat Kohli (20) departing after crucial contributions up the batting order. KL Rahul, meanwhile, disappointed once again as he scored just 1.

Cheteshwar Pujara (31 not out) and KS Bharat (23*) then added 33 runs for the fifth wicket to ensure India won the Test before the Tea break.
Earlier on Day 1, Australia scored 263 with Usman Khawaja scoring 81 top of the order while Peter Handscomb remained 72 not out. In response, India managed a 262 all out with Axar Patel reviving the innings down the order with a 74 on Day 2 after Virat Kohli scored 44.
