India Champions defeated Australia Champions by a massive 86-run margin to book a title clash with arch-rivals Pakistan in the inaugural World Championship of Legends tournament - WCL 2024 on Friday (July 12) at the County Cricket Ground in Northampton, England.
After quickfire fifties from Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan and irfan Pathan powered India Champions to a mammoth 254/6 in their allotted 20 overs, an all-round bowling effort restricted Australia Champions to 168/7.

Dhawal Kulkarni and Pawani Negi shared two wickets each, while Rahul Shukla, Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan claimed a wicket each as India choked out the in-form Australia batting line up that had posted 274 against West Indies just a few days ago at the same venue in Northampton.
For Australia, only Nathan Coulter-Nile, Callum Ferguson and Tim Paine breached the 20-run mark as in-form quartet of Aaron Finch, Dan Christian, Shaun Marsh and Ben Dunk failed to come to the party in the match that mattered the most.
Defending a humungous 254, Kulkarni’s double strike to remove Marsh and Dunk in the first four overs put Australia on the back foot, while Negi removed Finch before Harbhajan deceived Christian.
Negi castled Ben Cutting, who also had got runs under his belt before the semi-final, while Pathan followed up his showing with the bat by removing the set Ferguson in the space of two overs.
Rahul Shukla, who looked good from the start with the new ball, ended Coulter-Nile's fighting knock for 30 and ended with impressive figures of 1 for 25 in his four overs.
Earlier put into bat, India got the ball rolling with Uthappa taking the attack to Lee and co, samshing his fifty in 21 balls and shared a good stand with skipper Yuvraj after Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina fell early in the innings.
Yuvraj also scored a 28-ball 59 and shared a 47-run stand with Uthappa, but the duo departed by the 14th over. However, then it was time for the Pathan carnage as Irfan and Yusuf combined to put on 95 runs in just 34 balls to take India past 250.
Irfan smashed an 18-ball fifty before departing in the final over bowled by Peter Siddle, who was the pick of the Australian bowlers, Yusuf, on the other hand, reached his fifty in quick time and remained unbeaten on 51 off 23 balls.
For Australia, the bowlers looked helpless as leading wicket-takers Lee conceded 60 for no wicket in his four overs, while Coulter-Nile also went for 56 in his four overs for just 1 wicket. Siddle, who claimed four wickets, was not spared either as he conceded 57 runs in his four overs.
