India vs Bangladesh Women: India Opt To Bat In Asian Games Semi-Final

India have won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the second semi-final of the women's cricket tournament at the Asian Games 2026 on Sunday.

Harmanpreet Kaur's side are unchanged from the team that beat Japan by eight wickets in the quarter-final, while Bangladesh have also named their playing XI.

India bowled Japan out for 57 in their quarter-final, with Shree Charani claiming 4/10. Shafali Verma then smashed an unbeaten 40 off 15 balls as India chased down the target in just five overs.

Bangladesh advanced to the semi-finals after their quarter-final against China was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a wet outfield. They progressed as the higher-ranked side.

Sri Lanka await the winner

Sri Lanka have already secured their place in the gold-medal match after beating Pakistan in the first semi-final.

The winner of India vs Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka for the gold medal, while the losing side will meet Pakistan in the bronze-medal match.

India also enter the contest with a recent win over Bangladesh, having beaten them by 40 runs in the Women's Asia Cup semi-final earlier this month.
