India will resume their quest for a third successive World Test Championship Final when they host Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, which is part of the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

The series opener kicks off on Thursday (September 19) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while the action then shifts to Kanpur for the second and final Test, which will be staged at the Green Park Stadium.

Team India led by Rohit Sharma welcome the long awaited red ball return of wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant as the selectors also handed a call up to pacer Yash Dayal in the 16-member squad.

Aside from Pant, incumbent wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel retains his place in the squad as does KL Rahul, who has also donned the gloves before. Dayal will join the pace attack comprising Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep.

The spin attack comprises of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel. Batters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan and Virat Kohli make up the rest of the squad.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have included uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik in their 16-member squad led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, while pacer Shoriful Islam misses out through injury.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy also returns to the squad, having missed the recent Pakistan series due to injury. The rest of the squad is similar to the one that stunned Pakistan with seniors like Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz all in the group.
