Series already in the bag, Team India will look to continue winning when they face England in fifth and final Test at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium Complex in Dharamsala, starting on Thursday (March 7).
Rohit Sharma-led India bounced back from opening game defeat with back-to-back wins that saw them take an unassailable 3-1 lead against Ben Stokes’ England in the five-Tests series.

An all-round show with wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel being the highlight saw Team India claim a 5 wicket win, chasing 191 in the fourth innings of the fourth Test at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, where England’s Joe Root smashed a century and India’s R Ashwin claimed a five-wicket haul.
India will now look to cement their spot at the top of the World Test Championship standings with a win in their first-ever Test meeting against England at the Dharamsala venue, where the hosts have won the solitary match against Australia back in 2017.
Now, before their first meeting at the venue, here is a look at the HPCA Stadium Stats, Record, Pitch Report and Dharamsala Weather Forecast ahead of India vs England 5th Test:
The pitches at the HPCA Stadium have been batting friendly but also produce good bounce and carry, which have assisted the quick bowlers. In the solitary Test at the venue, India won when batting second with both spin and pace coming into play over the three days.
The conditions also will provide some help for pacers early in the game, but spinners will definitely have a role to play as the match heads into the third and fourth day.
The last time a Test match was hosted at the venue in Dharamsala, India won by 8 wickets against Australia by chasing down 106 in the fourth innings. Ashwin, Ravindra Jadesja and Kuldeep Yadav were all among wickets in that match, which finished inside three days.
Unlike the earlier four Tests in this series, captain winning the toss may be tempted to bowl first to utilize overcast conditions on day one of the match in Dharamsala.
The weather forecast on Thursday (March 7) predicts showers and thunderstorms, but from Friday (March 8) to Monday (March 11) it is expected to be clear and cold. There is threat of rain on the first day which may interrupt play in the IND vs ENG 5th Test.
