India vs England: BCCI announce crucial change in Squad, Shivam Dube replaces All-Rounder

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named seam-bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube as the replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England.

Nitish Reddy was ruled out of the T20Is after suffering a left quadriceps injury during the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. He has failed to recover in time for the ODI series and continues his rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Reddy is targeting a return for India's two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in August.

Dube, who is already in England as part of the five-match T20I squad, will stay back for the ODIs. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed: "The Selection Committee has named Shivam Dube as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's squad for the ODI series against England."The 31-year-old Dube, a two-time T20 World Cup winner, brings valuable middle-order batting depth and medium-pace bowling options. He has played just four ODIs so far, scoring 43 runs and claiming one wicket, with his last appearance coming against Sri Lanka in Colombo in August 2024.

The series begins on July 14 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, followed by the second ODI on July 16 in Cardiff and the third on July 19 at Lord's. After the ODIs, Dube is expected to join India's T20I squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.
