India and England will lock horns in a crucial ICC World Cup 2023 encounter on Sunday (October 29) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. India are currently placed 2nd in the table, while England are struggling at the 9th position.
The Indian team recorded their fifth straight victory over New Zealand in the last match, while England suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka, which has further jeopardised their chances to qualify for the semi-finals in the tournament. The defending champions are in tatters at the moment and would require a victory to keep their semi-final hopes alive.

India have Hardik Pandya out injured and the all-rounder is set to miss the England match. In Hardik's absence, India made two changes in the last match as Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami came in. It is to be seen if the former keeps his place as India will be tempted to bring in a spinner in Ravichandran Ashwin.
For England, Reece Topley has been ruled out of the tournament with injury. They brought in three changes in the last match but failed to change their fortunes. For the India match, England would definitely aim to make a change. Jonny Bairstow, who has had a dismal outing in the tournament, may well be dropped and Harry Brook may come in.
