The upcoming five-match Test series between India and England, scheduled from June 20 to August 4, 2025, marks the commencement of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle. Earlier known as the Pataudi Trophy, the series was rechristened as Tendulkar-Anderson trophy, on the name of Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson.

India enters this series with Shubman Gill appointed as the new Test captain, succeeding Rohit Sharma. The squad reflects a blend of experience and youth, with notable inclusions such as Karun Nair, Sai Sudharsan, and Shardul Thakur . This tour presents an opportunity for India to secure their first Test series win in England since 2007.
Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir held a press conference on Thursday, and after that, the team has left for England. BCCI released images of the players who have taken the trip. Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah were seen travelling while the newly called-up Sai Sudharsan has also left with the side.
Ravindra Jadeja, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj and others were also captured leaving for the tour. Although it was not confirmed, Kuldeep Yadav has also flown with the team, soon after his engagement.
Among the other players, the likes of Akash Deep, Abhimanyu Easwaran are already in England for the India A tour. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy are also currently part of the India A team. Among them, Nair also scored a magnificent double hundred in the first unofficial Test against England Lions.
