India will face England in the second semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, with the defending champions just two wins away from retaining the title.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side sealed their place in the last four after defeating West Indies by five wickets in the Super 8 stage. However, England enter the clash with strong momentum, having won all three of their Super 8 matches.

As India prepare for the high-stakes knockout clash, questions remain around potential changes to the playing XI - particularly at the top of the order.
One of the biggest talking points ahead of the semi-final is the form of Abhishek Sharma.
Despite being the world's top-ranked T20I batter, Abhishek has struggled throughout the tournament. The left-hander has managed just 80 runs in six innings, including three ducks.
Although he scored a half-century against Zimbabwe earlier in the competition, he was dismissed for just 10 against West Indies, raising fresh concerns about his form heading into the knockout stage.
The team management may therefore consider reshuffling the batting order for the semi-final.
India have already experimented with their batting combination during the tournament.
Ishan Kishan was moved to No. 3 earlier in the competition while Sanju Samson was promoted to open alongside Abhishek Sharma. Tilak Varma was also pushed further down the order.
However, there is speculation that India could revert to Kishan opening the innings, potentially replacing Abhishek Sharma if the team management opts for a change.
Another option could be bringing Rinku Singh into the playing XI to strengthen the middle order.
India's bowling attack has also faced scrutiny after conceding several high totals in recent matches.
The team allowed 176 against the Netherlands, 184 against Zimbabwe and 195 against West Indies during the Super 8 stage.
While Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy are expected to retain their places, the management could consider bringing Kuldeep Yadav back into the side.
However, making that change would require sacrificing either Axar Patel or another all-round option, which could weaken the batting depth.
Based on current team combinations and possible tactical adjustments, India's likely playing XI for the semi-final could be:
Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav
With England in strong form and a place in the final on the line, India will need a complete performance at Wankhede to keep their title defence alive.
