As expected the first T20I between India and Ireland on Friday, August 18, was hit by rain in the second innings. Despite overcast conditions, rain did not play spoilsport in the first innings as Ireland posted 139/7.
However, drizzles turned into heavy showers during the seventh over of the second innings.
AccuWeather had predicted continuous rain from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST local time (9:30 PM IST to 2:30 PM IST). The precipitation level during the period will be in excess of 80 percent.

Bumrah has been appointed the captain for the three T20Is which is preceding the Asia Cup 2023 which begins from August 30. Eyes will be on Bumrah, Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson who are in the race for a berth in India's Asia Cup squad.
