The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Ireland have confirmed that the Indian men's cricket team will play two T20 Internationals against Ireland in June 2026.
This short series serves as a crucial preparatory assignment for the Men in Blue ahead of their major white-ball tour of England in July.

The matches are scheduled for June 26 (1st T20I) and June 28 (2nd T20I), both to be held at Stormont in Belfast. India, fresh off their triumph as T20 World Cup 2026 champions, where they defeated New Zealand in the final, will use these games to fine-tune their T20 combinations under captain Suryakumar Yadav.
June 26 - 1st T20I, Belfast (7:30 pm IST)
June 28 - 2nd T20I, Belfast (7:30 pm IST)
For Ireland, hosting the world champions marks a significant opportunity. Cricket Ireland's Director of High Performance, Graham West, highlighted the fixtures as part of the team's transition phase, especially following Paul Stirling's recent decision to step down as T20I captain.
The series allows Ireland to test new leadership and strategies while building momentum toward future goals, including qualification momentum for the 2028 T20 World Cup. Though Ireland has historically struggled against top sides like India in bilateral encounters, these games offer valuable exposure on home soil.
The Ireland tour fits neatly into India's packed 2026 calendar. Post the two T20Is, the team heads to England for a comprehensive white-ball series starting July 1: five T20Is (venues including Chester-le-Street, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, and Southampton) followed by three ODIs.
But before touring, the Indian team will be playing against Afghanistan in a multiformat series. After IPL 2026 ends of May 31, they will play one-off Test and 3 ODIs against the Afghans on home soil. The Test will be played from June 6 in Mullanpur while the 3 ODI matches are to be played in Dharamshala (Jun 14), Lucknow (Jun 17) and Chennai (Jun 20).
