A clinical Indian batting stood tall as India secured a dominating 10-wicket victory over Nepal on Monday (September 4) in their final Asia Cup 2023 group stage match.

After winning the rain-marred match by 10 wickets, India secured their passage to the Super Fours of the Asia Cup. They have now progressed into the business end of the tournament and will be hoping to emerge as one of the two teams to play in the Final.

On Monday, the Indian team restricted Nepal to just 230 runs. Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 wickets each while Aasif Sheikh starred for Nepal with a decent score of 58. After a rain intervention, the Indian team was given the target of 145 runs in 23 overs, which they chased down within the 21st over.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both remained unbeaten as the former scored a match-winning 74 runs off just 59 balls. Gill, on the other hand, scored 67 off just 62 balls.

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma got the award for his unbeaten knock against Nepal. He scored 74 off just 59 balls, which had 6 fours and 5 sixes in it. The Indian captain received $5k in prize money as well.

Winner of the Match Cheque: $15k cheque received by Rohit Sharma.
