India will take on Nepal in their second and final group stage match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The winner of the Group A match will join Pakistan in the Super Fours.

India's first match against Pakistan ended without a result as the second innings could not commence due to persistent rain. Batting first Indian top order collapsed before Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (87) rescued the team with a fifth wicket partnership of 138 runs.

Once Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya departed, India were bundled out for 266 in 48.5 overs. On the other hand, Nepal suffered a 238-run defeat against Pakistan in their first match. Chasing a 343-run target, Nepal were bundled out for 104 in 23.4 overs.

India are the red hot favourites to beat Nepal who are highly inexperienced and that was evident in their first match against Pakistan. Nepal have a talented group of players but India are expected to make light work of the opposition. However, eyes will be on the Nepal bowling unit consisting of Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi and Sandeep Lamichhane who kept things tight against Pakistan initially. In case India bats first, chances of a very high total being posted is really high. Rain is again expected to play spoilsport in Pallekele.
