Team India will look to bounce back and level the series when they face New Zealand in the second match of the three-Tests series at the MCA Stadium in Pune, starting on Thursday (October 24).
With an aim to get closer to another World Test Championship (WTC) final, Rohit Sharma's India will look to put behind the disappointing loss to Tom Latham's New Zealand in Bengaluru, when they arrive in Pune.

In the rain-hit Bengaluru Test, India faltered after chosing to bat first as they were bowled out for 46 before New Zealand gained a lead of 356 riding on a century from Rachin Ravindra.
The home side, however, fought back through a maiden ton from Sarfaraz Khan to go along with fifties from Rohit, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant to wipe out the deficit. But only set a fourth innings target of 107, which was chased down after early hiccups by the Kiwis.
The remaining two Tests in the ongoing series for India as another defeat will put pressure on the hosts to win two Tests in Australia to seal their third successive World Test Championship final berth.
India currently lead the standings with a win percentage of 68.06 and are well-poised to reach their third successive title clash, while 2021 champions New Zealand moved to fourth with a win percentage of 44.44 following their win over the last weekend.
New Zealand's chances of a second WTC final look slim, but they will look to challenge and cause India harm in their quest for the final spot when they lock horns at the MCA Stadium, where only two Tests have been staged so far.
In IND vs NZ head to head battle in Test matches, India hold the advantage, having won 22 contests in 63 red ball meetings with New Zealand, who have won 14 times with 27 Tests ending in draws.
In the last five meetings, including the 2021 WTC Final, New Zealand holds a 3-1 record with 1 match ending in a draw. The Blackcaps’ recent win in Bengaluru saw them end a 36-year wait for a Test win on Indian soil.
At home, India has won 17 and drawn 17 of their home Tests against New Zealand, who have won just three times on their visits to India. The Kiwis, however, have never played a Test in Pune, where India won the most recent match against South Africa.
India lost their first-ever Test in Pune against Australia by 333 runs in 2017, but bounced back inspired by an unbeaten double century from Virat Kohli to beat South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in 2019.
The Blackcaps have, however, played ODIs at the venue in Pune, where they possess a winless streak, having suffered defeats to India in 2017 and most recently against South Africa during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Now, before India host New Zealand at the venue for the very first time in Pune for a red ball contest, here is a look at the MCA Stadium Stats and Record ahead of India vs New Zealand 1st Test followed by the broadcast details:
