All eyes in the world will be on Ahmedabad as team India take on New Zealand in the Final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The Men in Blue are chasing the record of becoming the first team in the World to win both the 50 over and 20 over World Cups in their backyard. Meanwhile, the Kiwis will be looking to grab their first ICC T20 World Cup.
The men in blue had a near perfect record coming to the finals, loosing just one match against South Africa and winning the rest six. However, the Men in Blue's record in Ahmedabad has been a 50-50 affair, making the high-stakes final at the venue even more intriguing.

While, India managed to win against the Netherlands (by 17 runs), the Proteas thrashed India by 76 runs in the Super 8.
As per the weather forecast, there is absolutely no chance of rain predicted in Ahmedabad on Sunday. But, what if it does rain out of the blue? Who will be declared as winners? Let's find out.
According to ICC rules governing T20 Internationals, a match will be deemed complete only if both teams bat for a minimum of five overs. However, this threshold is increased to 10 overs when it comes to semifinals and finals. This includes an extra time of 120 minutes on Sunday, even in case of reduction of overs.
If a 10-over match fail to go ahead on Sunday, then a reserve day on Monday (March 9) will take place. However, the match will not start from scratch, it will continue from where the teams left off on Sunday.
However, in the event of a total washout (i.e. no single ball is bowled on Sunday and Monday), India and New Zealand will be declared as joint winners. So far, there has been only one such instance where two teams have been declared as joint winners. This happened in the 2002 Champions Trophy when India and Sri Lanka were declared as winners after there was non-stop rain in Colombo for back to back two days, thereby leading to not a single ball to be bowled.
