India vs Pakistan: Abhishek Sharma becomes Fastest Indian to Two Prestigious T20 Records
Abhishek Sharma has once again showcased his explosive batting during the India-Pakistan Asian Games 2026 gold-medal clash, smashing 61 off just 28 balls in the high-profile final at Korogi Sports Park on Saturday (October 3).
His whirlwind knock included three fours and seven sixes, coming at a staggering strike rate of 217.86 as the southpaw gave the Indian team a stormy start with the bat on a presumably tricky track.

The left-hander provided India with the kind of explosive start expected from him, taking the attack to Pakistan's bowlers from the outset. Abhishek's seven sixes added another memorable chapter to his remarkable 2026 campaign, before his innings ended when he was stumped by Usman Khan off Arafat Minhas.
Abhishek had already been in sensational form this year. Earlier in September, he smashed 108 off 34 balls against Afghanistan, reaching his century in only 30 deliveries to register the fastest T20I hundred by an Indian batter. That innings also contained 11 sixes and nine fours.

His seven sixes against Pakistan also helped Abhishek complete two remarkable milestones in T20 cricket.
He became the fastest Indian to reach 100 sixes in a calendar year, taking only 651 balls to reach the mark in 2026. Only Andre Russell, who required 589 balls in 2019, has reached the landmark faster overall. Dewald Brevis is third on the list with 653 balls in 2025.
Abhishek has also become the fastest Indian to smash 400 sixes in T20 cricket, achieving the milestone in just 3,513 balls. Russell remains the overall fastest, reaching 400 sixes in 3,027 balls, while Chris Gayle needed 3,557 deliveries.
