India and Pakistan's rivalry is set to be rejuvenated in the 50-over format courtesy of the upcoming matches in the next few months.
India are set to play Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But even before that, the two arch-rivals are set to collide in the Asia Cup 2023.

After many twists and turns, the Asia Cup this year looks set to have a proper conclusion after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) managed to board the hybrid model format. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has agreed to the terms and a part of the Asia Cup matches will be played in Pakistan, whereas the remaining ones in Sri Lanka.
India's reluctance to visit Pakistan means the two teams will play only in Sri Lanka throughout the course of the tournament. And now as PCB has already forwarded a draft schedule, we may see ACC give a green light to it soon.
India can meet Pakistan thrice in just fifteen days. According to reports, the Asia Cup 2023 is set to start on August 31 and the final will be played on September 7.
India, Pakistan and Nepal are in Group A, whereas Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in Group B.
India and Pakistan are slotted in Group A along with Nepal. The two teams are set to meet in their group stage match on September 2 in Kandy.
Also as a pre-designated scenario, India and Pakistan will finish as A1 and A2 respectively in the super four despite their group stage ranks, whereas Sri Lanka (B1) and Bangladesh (B2) will have the same tags.
If Nepal and Afghanistan qualify for the Super Four, they will replace the position of the eliminated team.
India and Pakistan will meet for the first time in the group stages on September 2 in Kandy.
But we may see the flagship match happening twice more in the tournament. In case both teams qualify for the super four, they will meet again in Kandy on September 10 as a part of the super four matches.
And if India and Pakistan then finish as the top two teams in Super Four, they will clash again in the Final on September 17.
