Rain is very likely to play spoilsport in the marquee India versus Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2023 in Pallekele in Kandy, Sri Lanka on Saturday. AccuWeather has predicted a precipitation level of 100 percent, and 90 percent chance of thunderstorms.
Reporters present at the stadium in Sri Lanka have informed of rolled-up covers being placed near the boundary ropes and wet outfield with patches on it due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening. Weather conditions were similar on Tuesday.

On Saturday, there is a prediction for rain from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM. The match kicks off at 3:00 PM IST and there are high chances of rain from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Another spell of showers has been predicted from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Under such circumstances, there are high chances that the match could get abandoned or end without a result.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the high-octane clash and the news comes as a major blow to their expectations of a super Saturday. The Babar Azam-led Pakistan side defeated Afghanistan in their first Group A match by a massive 238-run margin. India are set to begin their campaign with the Pakistan clash.
The Rohit Sharma-led side will play their second and last group stage match against Nepal on Monday, September 4. India and Pakistan are very likely to meet again in the Super Fours round on September 10 in Colombo.
