The India and Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 clash has taken a stoppage due to rain. The Pallekele stadium in Kandy had a rain prediction, and it started raining just after the start of the play.
The rain started early in India's inning as the men in Blue decided to bat first. And as it caused the halt, India captain Rohit Sharma was seen sitting in the dug out. The India batter has made a decent start with bat and he didn't make his way into the dressing room during the rain infringement.

The Indian captain was seen chatting with Axar Patel and Suryakumar Yadav, and he was seen speaking and having a laugh with them. As this was captured on the camera, Star Sports broadcaster and anchor Mayanti Langer asked two experts Sanjay Manjrekar and Waqar Younis to take a guess on what Rohit was saying.
Mayanti asked Sanjay Manjrekar to lip-read the Indian skipper as they both have Marathi as mother tongue. But the former India player says the India captain and other Indian players mostly speak Hindi nowadays.
"No they only speak Hindi. Whenever I talk with them, it's all Hindi. Shardul, Shreyas...they communicate in Hindi," said Manjrekar in the rain-break show on Star Sports.
Langer then asked Pakistan legend Waqar Younis to take his guess, and Younis guessed the Indian batter was probably speaking about tactics.
"I think they are saying something different. You know when a batter is in the middle, they say different kinds of words. All batters speak something, while the bowlers also chat about something. But here, outside the ground, I think they are having a talk and speaking about tactics," Younis said.
After the rain ate up about half an hour, the match has started and India have lost their captain Rohit Sharma immediately. The Indian captain has departed for 11 runs as Shaheen Afridi castled his stumps.
