Team India will look to dent Pakistan’s hopes of Super 8 progression from Group A when the arch-rivals clash in match 19 of T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday (June 9).
Rohit Sharma-led India will look to carry their winning momentum from the tournament opening 8-wicket victory over Ireland, while Babar Azam’s Pakistan will be desperate to avoid defeat after suffering a shock loss to USA via a Super Over eliminator.

Both Pakistan and India were expected to progress from Group A, but the former’s chances look bleak after their defeat to USA and a defeat to their arch-rivals will virtually rule them out of contention from qualifying for the Super 8.
This will be Pakistan and India’s ninth appearance in the show-piece tournament since it’s inception in 2007. Both teams have won the title at least once and will look to add to their this year as well.
The two heavyweight sides and pre-tournament favourites will clash for the 13th time in T20 format and for the first time in the New York venue. Here is a look at the head to head numbers of IND vs PAK:
