The much anticipated India vs Pakistan ICC World Cup match has reportedly been rescheduled to a day earlier from the originally scheduled date of Sunday, October 15 and will now take place on Saturday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The decision to reschedule the marquee match came after the police in Ahmedabad expressed concerns about ensuring adequate security on October 15, the same day as the commencement of the Hindu festival Navaratri.

The report further added that there could be more adjustments to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 schedule after BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said last week that three boards wrote to the ICC requesting a calendar adjustment.
While the name of the three state associations were not disclosed by Shah, he had stated that just the dates and times of the matches would be altered in order to decrease the gap to 4-5 days.
"Three members have written to the ICC for a schedule change. Only the date and timings will be changed, venues will not be changed. If there is a six-day gap between games, we are trying to reduce it to 4-5 days. The picture will be clear in three-four days. Changes will happen in consultation with the ICC," Shah said.
The news of a possible schedule change had caused concern among fans, who had already made travel arrangements, including booking flights and hotels in Ahmedabad, in anticipation of witnessing much-awaited encounter.
Although the decision is not yet official, it is very likely that the date of October 14 will be more realistic option and should not be a big logistical issue. Any announcement on the schedule change will be made later on Monday (July 31).
As it stands, there are already two matches scheduled for the day with New Zealand facing Bangladesh in a day game in Chennai, and England facing Afghanistan in the day-night match in Delhi. So, the schedule will need further adjustments.
The marquee match between India and Pakistanh has been one of the most-watched sporting events worldwide, and fans from both nations eagerly await this intense showdown on the cricket field.
