India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in purpose-built modular New York stadium: Reports

India vs Pakistan: The USA is well in line to host the biggest match of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June 2024. A purpose-built modular stadium is set to be assembled from scratch at Eisenhower Park in New York State’s Nassau County.

The same facility will reportedly host the India vs Pakistan mega clash in the ICC event which will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies.

As per a Cricbuzz report has suggested that the facility, 30 miles east of New York, will have a seating capacity of 34,000. The turf will be made ready by consultants who work with both American Football and soccer.

The ICC are doing their best to make the sport of cricket popular in the USA. The country is world's biggest media market and as well as the fastest-emerging cricket market around the globe. USA successfully hosted the inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC) this year and witnesses the biggest white-ball stars feature in the league.

IPL franchises Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have already bought teams in the MLC. The report also added that MLC side MI New York could potentially use the newly-laid infrastructure at Eisenhower Park in the 2024 season which will kick off in July, after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The Eisenhower Park agreement with Nassau County officials is likely to solve ICC problems with respect to the venues in the USA. Around 20 T20 World Cup matches will be held in the US. Central Broward Park, Lauderhill and Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas are the two other two venues likely to host the matches. Church Street Park in Morrisville also hosted MLC matches, and is also in contention but does not have any permanent structure or practice facilities.

The ICC earlier announced the 20-team World Cup will commence on June 4 and conclude on June 30.
