India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 marquee group stage match is likely set to be staged in New York. America, the co-hosts with West Indies for the show-piece tournament, has reportedly won the race to host the high-voltage clash.
USA and West Indies will co-host the next T20 World Cup in June-July 2024 with three venues in America locked in to host matches - Central Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas and Eisenhower Park on Long Island, about 25 miles from downtown Manhattan.

However, recent reports suggest that a fourth venue, a temporarily built pop-up stadium in New York will also host a match, the biggest one in the show-piece tournament.
According to reports from the Guardian, a pop-up stadium on the outskirts of New York will be the venue for the India-Pakistan match next year. The temporary stadium, which could house 34,000 seating capacity, will be built for the marquee clash.
The reason why the city may been picked as the venue for the marquee clash is due to Indian and Pakistan origin people living there. The latest census data of the city has revealed that around 7,11,000 Indian and about 1,00,000 people of Pakistani origin live in New York.
Although time difference between India and the East Coast in the USA is 10-and-a-half-hours, some of India matches, especially the high-voltage arch-rivals clash, will be scheduled in the morning to suit the Indian viewers.
India and Pakistan meet only in multi-nation tournaments since 2013. In 2023, the arch-rivals met three times in ODIs during the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup with India winning two and one ending in No Result.
In the seven T20 World Cup meetings, India has won six times, including one tied match that was decided by a bowl out, while Pakistan won only once in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
