Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir expressed his disappointment with the behaviour of the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium during India vs Pakistan match in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The former opener slammed the Indian fans for jeering and booing the Pakistan captain.

Gautam Gambhir, while speaking on air during the live coverage of the match, remarked that fans need to understand that Pakistan our guest and need to be treated nicely. Pakistan's captain Babar Azam was welcomed with jeering and booing when he appeared on the big screen for the toss.

"Support your team but don't misbehave with your visitors, after all, they are your guests," Gambhir said. "We have to remember they are the visitors and here to play the World Cup."

The match turnout to be a lopsided encounter with India beating Pakistan by seven wickets after the rivals were bowled out for just 191. Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the man of the match for picking two big wickets in the game, including Mohammad Rizwan with a slow off-cutter that took the set batter by surprise to take his off stump. Indian skipper then helped India chase down the total in a canter with a fast-pace 86 while Shreyas Iyer got the job done with a half century.
