India have registered a monumental victory over rivals Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian Bowling team rolled over the Pakistani battles for just 191 runs, and then chased it down with ease with 19.3 overs to spare.
It was a sublime bowling and batting effort from the Indian team, first with the ball as all of the bowlers handed a colossal collapse to skittle the Pakistanis for a very paltry score of just 191. And then, while chasing India Captain Rohit Sharma starred and scored a flamboyant 86 runs of just 63 balls to lay the foundation of an easy chase.

Pakistan had a decent start with the bat but they lost their way from 155 for 2 and succumbed to just a mere 191, losing their last eight wickets for just 36 runs. And the Men in Blue had no issue of chasing it down, as Rohit Sharma dismantled Shaheen Afridi and company. Shreyas Iyer also scored a fantastic unbeaten half century as India won the match by 7 wickets.
With the victory, India have gone to the top of the table with six points after three matches.
Man of the Match: Jasprit Bumrah - Jasprit Bumrah was given the award for picking two wickets. He was excellent with the ball and conceded just 19 runs off his seven overs.
"(On his performance) It felt good, usually you try to analyze the pitch as soon as possible. As soon as the ball got older, it might reverse a little bit and at my triple a little bit. So, yeah, we are waiting for that. I'm just trying to make it as difficult as possible.
(On assessing the pitch) When I was young, I used to ask a lot of questions now. I have an experience, so I sometimes a little quickly, sometimes you can make errors. But when I was a youngster, I used to ask there used to be something, but that helped me out of knowledge. And so I think it helps you sometimes to read the wicket and try different options. (On slower and reverse swing) I consider my slower ball same as the spinners slower, the white ball was reverse swinging in the end. Waqar Younis praising is a good thing for me."

Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): We started well. Good partnership between me and Imam. We wanted to play normal cricket (me and Rizwan). Suddenly we had a collapse and didn't finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290. With the new ball we are not upto the mark. The way Rohit is playing - he played an outstanding innings.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): (on the result) Yeah, absolutely no doubt about it. The bowlers were the ones today as well. We've got six individual who can do the job for us with the ball. It can be someone's day. It cannot be everyone's day, every day. The guy who as a is having a good day needs to make sure that, he gets a job done for the team and obviously my job as a captain is important there as well to read the conditions.
(on the team combination) It's looking very good. I mean it's only because the guys, before entering the World Cup, they got lot of runs, you know, the role clarity as well. We were very clear with what we wanted to do. And, you know, leading up into the World Cup, guys got opportunity, and they made full use of that. I want to keep my fingers crossed. We dont want to get too excited, and we dont want to get too low as well. We want to stay balance moving forward.
(on Pakistan match's relief) Yeah, I have said it quite a few time now for us. This was, this was an opposition that we wanted to play against the quality opposition. And that's how we want to look at this World Cup. Every opposition that we come against are all quality, and they can beat you anytime on that particular day.
