India vs South Africa 1st T20I Playing 11: India's month-long tour in South Africa starts on Sunday (December 10) as they take on each other in the 1st T20I in Durban.

The two teams are set to play in 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests in this tour and team India will be hoping to come out on top across the formats.

India's preparation for the T20 World Cup in 2024 has started and it was a decent outing against Australia. But now the focus will be to continue the merry run against a strong South African side in their home conditions.

India have named a youthful squad for the T20I series. Surya Kumar Yadav will lead the side as the big names such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli won't take any part in the format. It is an opportunity for the youngsters to showcase their talent at the grand stage, and we will see plenty of them in action.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad are likely to be the opening pair and we may witness Ishan Kishan chosen over Jitesh Sharma for this match. Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj are likely to be the pace pair and either Deepak Chahar or Mukesh Kumar may have the 3rd pacer role. In terms of spin, Ravi Bishnoi is likely to feature after his Player of the Series performance against Australia.

For South Africa, it is a strong squad under the captaincy of Aiden Markram as they will vie to win the series against this inexperienced Indian side. They have brought in some new names like Nandre Burger and Matthew Breetzke, and the former may make his debut on Sunday. Heinrich Klaasen is certain to play, so are Keshav Maharaj and Gerald Coetzee.
