On the first day of the second and final Test in Newlands, Capetown on Wednesday (December 3), pacer Mohammed Siraj tore through the South African batting lineup with an incredible six-wicket haul as India dismissed the host team for just 55 at lunch.
In nine overs, Siraj gave up just 15 runs, forcing the South African batsmen to submit completely on a ground that was ideal for pace bowling. In his final Test match, captain Dean Elgar won the toss and chose to bat first, which proved to be a nightmare for the home team.

David Bedingham scored 12 and Kyle Verreyne scored 15, but the other South African batsmen were all out for single-digit totals. The other two South African wickets were taken by Mukesh Kumar (2/0) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25).
Brief Scores: South Africa: 55 all out in 23.2 overs (Kyle Verreynne 15; Mohammed Siraj 6/15).
