India vs South Africa: Last Six Indian Wickets Fall In Just 11 Balls In Unbelievable Collapse

India vs South Africa: In one of those rare occasions in international cricket, India lost their lower half of the batting order without scoring a run as six wickets fell in the space of just 11 deliveries during the opening day of the second Test in Newlands, Capetown on Wednesday (December 3).

On a pitch, where batting never looked comfortable as it provided uneven pace and movement to the pacers, India went from 153/4 with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the middle to 153 all out after halting South Africa at 55 all out at Lunch.

Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada did the damage as India lost their last six wickets in just 15 minutes with all of Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Mukesh Kumar failing to score any runs during the period.

All of Rabada, Ngidi, and Nandre Burger took three wickets. Scoring 46, Virat Kohli was the highest-scoring player, followed by skipper Rohit Sharma scoring 39 at the top of the order while Shubman Gill contributed 36. India could only get 34.5 overs to bat.

After losing the first Test match in Centurion by an innings, India led by 98 runs in the first innings. Earlier, India bowled the host team at the stroke of lunch when bowler Mohammed Siraj tore through the South African batting lineup with an incredible six-wicket haul.

In his final Test match, captain Dean Elgar won the toss and chose to bat first, which proved to be a nightmare for the home team. David Bedingham scored 12 and Kyle Verreyne scored 15, but the other South African batsmen were all out for single-digit totals.

Brief Scores: South Africa: 55 all out in 23.2 overs (Kyle Verreynne 15; Mohammed Siraj 6/15). India: 153 all out in 34.5 overs (Virat Kohli 46, Rohit Sharma 39, Shubman Gill 36; Lungi Ngidi 3/30, Kagiso Rabada 3/38, Nandre Burger 3/42).
