India will be up against Sri Lanka in a six-match limited overs series which starts on July 26. Although initially set to start on July 27, the series has been preponed a day.
The Indian team will tour the island country for 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs, which is also going to be the first series in charge for new head coach Gautam Gambhir.

The schedule for the upcoming series between India and Sri Lanka has allotted the T20I matches first, followed by the ODI matches. Pallekele will host all the T20 matches whereas Colombo will host the 50-over encounters.

The Indian team is also tipped to arrive in Sri Lanka on July 22. After the T20 World Cup triumph, Hardik Pandya is likely to lead the team in this T20 series against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah may well not be picked for the ODI series as well. Rohit and Virat retired from the T20 format, but are expected to play the ODIs only after the Sri Lanka series. They have been handed an extended vacation following their outstanding deeds in the T20 World Cup.
