Fresh from a thumping win that sealed the ODI series, Team India will look to start the five-match T20I series strongly when they face West Indies in the 1st T20I at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad & Tobago on Thursday (August 3).
The five-match T20I series will start in Tarouba and then move to Guyana and Florida for the remaining matches. The Men in Blue will be led by Hardik Pandya, while the hosts will be led by Rovman Powell.

Both teams will feature some fresh faces as Nicholas Pooran, Johnson Charles, Jason Holder, Odean Smith, Obed McCoy and Akeal Hosein join the hosts' squad, while the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh join the visitors squad.
This will be Team India's first T20I assignment since their 2-1 home series win against New Zealand earlier this year in February, while this will be West Indies' first T20I outing since their 2-1 away series win against South Africa in March.
The two sides have already clashed in Test and ODI series, in which India has come out on top in both occasions. Now, the two sides will now clash in T20I at the Brian Lara Stadium Stadium, which will host it's second T20I. The only T20I was held in 2022 when India beat West Indies.
Now, let's take a look at the Brian Lara Stadium Info along with Pitch Report and Tarouba Weather Forecast after some showers in the Caribbean in recent days ahead of India vs West Indies 1st T20I:
Founded: 2007
Seating Capacity: 15,000
Number of international matches hosted: 1 T20I and 1 ODI
The venue has so far hosted one T20I, which saw the team batting first win the match. In the recent ODI match as well the team batting first won the match and also scored freely, but quicker bowlers found early assistance and spinners came into play as the game progressed.
However, in T20I the wicket is expected to remain same for most part of the match and with the match being played in the day time, expect a high-scoring contest as most T20 specialists will be playing in this match.
The weather forecast for Thursday (August 3) indicates intervals of clouds and sunshine with a thunderstorm around in the afternoon with max temperature of 32o C. But the rain is unlikely to play spoilsport in the match.
Rain Prediction for Tarouba on August 3: There is forecast for thunderstorms at 6 AM Local Time and 4 PM Local. The two spells are unlikely to interfere with play though as the match is scheduled to start at 10:30 AM Local Time and finish by 2:30 PM Local Time.
