Team India will start their tour of West Indies with a two-match Test series, starting with the first Test at the Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica from Wednesday (July 12).
After the WTC 2023 Final disappointment, Rohit Sharma-led India will look to start the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-2025 cycle on a winning note when they clash with Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies.

India is heading into the series on the back of the WTC Final 2023 loss to Australia, while West Indies are fresh from the disappointment of not qualifying for the ODI World Cup 2023 following a fifth-place finish in the Super Six stage of the recent World Cup qualifiers.
Both teams have named a few new faces in their squads as India have given Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mukesh Kumar a call up, while the hosts have handed Kirk McKenzie and Alick Athanazie their first call ups heading into the series opener in Dominica.
This will be the sixth Test at the venue, where India and West Indies clashed in the first-ever red ball game in 2011, when the match ended in a draw. The last Test played at the venue was six years ago in 2017.
Here is a look at the Windsor Park Stats, Record, Best Performers with the bat and ball in red ball format at the venue as well as Pitch Report and Dominica Weather Forecast ahead of India vs West Indies 1st Test:
Windsor Park Venue Info

Seating Capacity: 12,000
Ends: River End and Botanical Garden End
Number of international matches hosted: 5 Tests, 4 ODIs and 4 T20Is
Over the years, the pitches at the Windsor Park have been like a typical Test wicket, assisting quicker bowlers on the first day and getting easier to bat on days 2 and 3. However, as the wicket gets used the spinners come into play on the final two days of a Test.
The average scores of the venue also suggest that the team batting second have scored the most runs. Plus the teams chasing in the final innings have mostly chased small targets. Both spinners and pacers have even share of wickets.
The weather forecast from Wednesday (July 12) to Sunday (July 16) indicates warm partly sunny days on days 2, 3 and 4, but there is chance of rain on day 1 and 5. The maximum temperature is set to fluctuate from of 30o C to 32o C.
