Team India will look to bounce back and seal the three-match ODI series when they face West Indies in the decider at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday (August 1).

Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma registered a 5-wicket win in the series opener to take a 1-0 lead at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Thursday (July 27), but Shai Hope's bounced back to beat a Hardik Pandy-led Team by 6 wickets at the same venue on Saturday (July 29).

Rohit and Virat Kohli sat out of the match as India brought in Axar Patel and Sanju Samson. Despite a struggle in the first ODI, India chased down a paltry 115, but failed to follow up with a better batting display, folding up for 181 from 90 for no loss.

Only Ishan Kishan (55), Shubman Gill (34) and Suryakumar Yadav (24) crossed the 20-run mark for the visitors as Gudakesh Moite (3 for 36) and Romario Shepherd (3 for 37) picked three wickets each for the hosts, while the returning Alzarri Joseph took two wickets.

In response, skipper Hope smashed an unbeaten 63 and shared a 91-run stand with Keacy Cartey (48*) to take the home side across the line with 6 wickets in hand and 13.2 overs to spare. Shardul Thakur (3 for 42) and Kuldeep Yadav (1 for 30) were the wicket takers for India.

Now, the two sides will now clash in the decider at the Brian Lara Stadium Stadium, which will host it's first men's One Day International match, having only hosted a T20I in men's international cricket so far. The only T20I was held in 2022 when India beat West Indies.
