North Sound, June 30: Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane's fifies followed by a splendid spin bowling helped India thrash West Indies by 93 runs in the third One-Day International (ODI) against the West Indies here on Friday (June 30).

Defending a tricky total of 252, Indian bowlers folded the West Indies innings for 158 in 38.1 overs and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 5-match series.

Kuldeep Yadav (3/41) and R Ashwin (3/32) were the pick of Indian bowlers as both the spinners wreaked havoc against hosts' middle-order and easily won the game.

Hardik Pandya picked up 2 wickets as well while Umesh Yadav and Kedar Jadhav grabbed one wicket apiece.

Jason Mohammed (40 off 61 balls) and Rovman Powell (30 off 43 balls) were the only Windies batsmen who offered some resistance to the Indian bowlers but they too couldn't do much for their team as they lost the game.

Earlier, Rahane and Dhoni hit half-centuries as India posted 251/4 after being invited to bat first. Rahane posted a steady innings of 72 runs off 112 balls to help the visitors recover from a rocky start.

Dhoni remained unbeaten on a quick 78 runs off 79 balls. His trademark big hitting towards the end helped the Indians gpo past the 250-run mark.

The duo put together a steady partnership of 70 runs off 96 balls to help the visitors recover after a rocky start.

Pacer Miguel Cummins was the most successful among the West Indies bowlers with figures of 2/56 in his 10 overs.

West Indies skipper elected to chase in order to make some use of the moisture from the overnight rain in Antigua.

Kyle Hope and Kesrick Williams made their debuts for West Indies in this game.
