India vs Zimbabwe: Four India players in T20 World Cup Squad who may be picked for Zimbabwe Tour

India's squad for the Zimbabwe tour is likely to be announced on Sunday (June 23) as the selectors are poised to name a team which will take part in the five-match T20I series.

The upcoming series in the shortest format of the international game starts on July 6, eight days after the T20 World Cup 2024 final. The fifth match will be played on July 14.

Team India is expected to send a young squad as the senior pros of the team will be rested. Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are certainly going to be rested, with players like Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja won't be selected for the series as well.

Selectors are likely to include a lot of emerging players who had an outstanding IPL 2024. The likes of Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma are poised to be named, whereas emerging player Nitish Kumar Reddy also has a chance of making it to the India squad.

But a few of the India players who are currently in West Indies for the T20 World Cup may get their name taken for the tour. It can be a long journey but a detoured one to Harare for some of the current members of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. Here are Four players who can be named in the India squad for the Zimbabwe series -

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal was picked for the T20 World Cup but he hasn't got a game so far. It looks likely that the veteran leg spinner will be picked for the Zimbabwe tour which can provide him some opportunity.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

India opted to open the batting with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, which has kept Yashasvi Jaiswal out of the team. The southpaw had a superb IPL 2024 but has been warming the benches in the T20 World Cup. Hence the chance may arrive for him in Zimbabwe.

Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has been used as a batter and the CSK player is getting regular game time in the T20 World Cup. But Dube may well be included in the Zimbabwe squad as well for more all-round depth for the Indian team. With Hardik Pandya's absence, Dube can be India's pace bowling all-rounder in the series.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson will be the name who is set to keep the wicket for team India in Zimbabwe. Rishabh Pant's emergence meant Samson hasn't got any opportunity, but is likely to be the starter for the team in Zimbabwe.

Travelling Reserves to be Included

Among India's travelling reserves, Avesh Khan looks set to be included. Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed, who are still in West Indies with the Indian team, are also certain to be named for the Zimbabwe tour.
