Gautam Gambhir took the helm of Indian cricket soon after the T20 World Cup, which saw a joyous and triumphant Indian team biding adieu to their former professor Rahul Dravid.
Gambhir, in his early days as India's head coach, has stamped the authority properly as the Indian team continues their merry run. Despite a blemish in the Sri Lanka ODI series, the Indian team has done fairly well in Test and T20I formats.

After winning the T20I series against Sri Lanka, India have slayed Bangladesh in both the Test and T20 formats. Their immediate test is another Red Ball series against New Zealand at home.
But Gautam Gambhir has already shown that under his tenure, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and boys will play a brand of cricket - which oozes fearlessness and boldness at the crease.
Along with Gautam Gambhir, Ryan Ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel have joined them assistant coaches. Incidentally, the trio were part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team when Gambhir was the captain of KKR. And a person, who saw them very closely, was Biju George.
George worked as the fielding coach at KKR for a couple of years and saw all three of them from close proximity. And the current Delhi Capitals coach says MyKhel in an exclusive interview that India will play a 'different brand of cricket'.
"It will be very different [under Gautam Gambhir's coaching], India will play a different brand of cricket. They will go for glory, and they will play tough and aggressive cricket. I think India will climb to newer heights as long as Gautam is at the helm."
George also revealed his respect for Gautam Gambhir, whom he still mentions as 'captain'. The current Delhi Capitals fielding coach also reveals a quality which Gambhir possesses, which depicts the India coach's humbleness.
"I didn't meet him [Gambhir] after the coaching. Gautam Gambhir is hugely inspiring. I have huge respect for him. Whenever I message him, I address him as captain. He is always there, whenever you message, he is always there replying back. He is a massively inspiring figure. Even when he can't reply, his secretary calls to check if anything is needed."
George also met with Ryan Ten Doeschate in the USA during the Major League Cricket and says he still has formal contact with bowling coach Morne Morkel. As the Indian cricket takes its next journey with the trio at the helm, George is assured about the institutional heads, all to witness is how the students flourish.
