In a display of cricketing supremacy, India emerged victorious in the Champions Trophy 2025 final, defeating New Zealand by four wickets on March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Rohit Sharma's troops showcased their prowess against the Kiwis to clinch their third Champions Trophy title in history.

Electing to bat, New Zealand faced a formidable Indian bowling attack. Daryl Mitchell anchored the innings with a resilient 63, while Michael Bracewell's unbeaten 53 propelled the Kiwis to a total of 251-7. India's spin maestros, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, were instrumental, applying relentless pressure and claiming pivotal wickets that stymied New Zealand's momentum.
Chasing 252, India showcased their batting prowess. Captain Rohit Sharma led with an authoritative 76, setting a solid foundation alongside Shubman Gill. Despite a mid-innings wobble, the experienced KL Rahul's composed 34 not out ensured India crossed the finish line with an over to spare.
Although 2025 didn't start in the best of fashion for India, they have turned things around. Adding icing on the cake, Rohit Sharma also confirmed he is going nowhere from ODI cricket, thus dismissing the retirement rumours.
