India Women set for Australia Tour and Play Day-Night Test at Renovated WACA - Schedule, Fixtures List

By MyKhel Staff

The Indian women's cricket team is set for a landmark tour of Australia in early 2026, comprising a three-match T20I series, a three-match ODI series, and a one-off Test match.

The multi-format series, announced by Cricket Australia, will take place across seven cities, starting on February 15 and concluding with the historic Test match in Perth from March 6 to 9.

The tour kicks off with the T20Is, beginning at the Sydney Cricket Ground on February 15, followed by matches in Canberra (Feb 19) and Adelaide (Feb 21). The ODI leg begins on February 24 at Brisbane's Allan Border Field, before moving to Hobart (Feb 27) and Melbourne (March 1).

However, the crown jewel of the tour is undoubtedly the pink-ball Test match, scheduled to be held at the iconic WACA Ground in Perth. This will be a day-night fixture, adding further intrigue to the contest. The historic venue, known for its pace and bounce, has undergone a significant revamp, and this match will be among the first major fixtures at the refurbished stadium.

India has played six Tests in Australia so far, winning two and losing four. The teams have also had a competitive history in limited-overs cricket. Australia leads the ODI head-to-head 17-7, while the T20I record stands evenly poised at 8-8, promising a tightly contested tour.

Meanwhile, while one iconic venue is being renewed, another faces the end of an era. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli announced that Brisbane's Gabba stadium will be torn down after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In its place, a brand-new 63,000-seat stadium will be built at Victoria Park, as part of a $3.8 billion redevelopment plan.

This confirms long-standing speculation about Gabba's future, especially after Cricket Australia's 2024 venue allocation plan limited its guaranteed international hosting rights to just one more summer, during the men's Ashes.
