India Women vs Bangladesh Women, Asian Games 2023: India Women will take on Bangladesh Women in the first semi-final of the Asian Games 2023 at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, Hangzhou in China on Sunday.

India Women (IND-Q) locked horns with Malaysia Women (MAL-W) and qualified for the semi-finals despite the match getting abandoned after 15.2 overs on the basis of their higher ranking.

Bangladesh Women had their semi-final match scheduled against Hong Kong Women on Friday. The match was abandoned without a bowl being bowled. This time Bangladesh advanced into the semi-finals due to a better ranking.

India Women are featuring in the Asian Games for the first time and the favourites to win the gold medal on Monday. Bangladesh Women have won silver on the two occasions cricket has been played in the continental event. A win in the match, will ensure India a silver medal and give an opportunity to win a gold on Asian Games debut.

India batters have already warmed up against Malaysia. They batted for 15 overs and piled up 173/2 with each of their top four batters scoring briskly.

India Women have won four of their last five T20I matches against Bangladesh. The last bilateral series between the two nations was hotly contested. It was the same tour to Bangladesh which saw Harmanpreet Kaur get banned for two matches because of her outbursts in the third ODI. India are expected to take the field with the motive to decimate Bangladesh who have lost three of their last four matches.
