In the latest ICC Women's T20I Rankings, India has secured the 3rd spot, with Bangladesh not far behind at 9th. All the matches of the upcoming series will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Harmanpreet Kaur's team, representing India, made it to this year's tournament by being one of the top six teams in the last edition, which took place in South Africa in 2023.
India's journey in the tournament was commendable as they reached the semi-finals, only to be defeated by Australia, the eventual champions. Bangladesh, on the other hand, secured their spot in the tournament as the host nation, showcasing their burgeoning presence in women's cricket.
The last encounter between these two teams was in July 2023 during India's tour to Bangladesh. The series comprised three T20Is and three ODIs. India emerged victorious in the T20I series with a 2-1 scoreline.
Bangladesh marked a significant milestone by clinching their first-ever win against India in Women's ODIs in the series opener. The victory set the tone for a fiercely contested series. The following match saw India making a strong comeback, tying the series and setting the stage for a thrilling series decider. The final game ended in a dramatic tie, with Bangladesh stopping India at 225 runs in pursuit of 226, with merely three balls left in the game. Consequently, the series concluded with both teams sharing the honours.
